Large unique antique Japanese Byobu (screen) depicting an interesting scene of competition of frogs and rabbits in the lotus leaf archery, on a field with plants and hills. Four panels. Gouache, watercolor and ink on paper. Framed sometime during last decade in a newly made lacquered wood frame with metal hardware. Paper and fabric with blank silk tag on back. Unsigned. Japan, Meiji Era, circa 1868-1912. Good condition for age – some age wear, some losses and damages, repairs.
